Splash Talks + Cleanup @ Sloan’s Lake | Tuesday, October 21st. | 2:00 pm - 6:00 pm

Join us this fall for CLRMA’s annual Fall Forum, with a special focus on socializing, networking, and community engagement and of course Happy Hour to relax and connect with fellow members!

Venue: Meet at Sloan’s Lake Playground for a 2–3 pm cleanup, then head to Odell’s for Splash Talks + happy hour at starting 3:15 pm. Parking: lots + street parking; King Soopers and Target lot nearby.

Bring: water, sun protection, comfy shoes. We will provide gloves and snacks!

Agenda:

We’ll kick off the afternoon (2 - 3 pm) with a shoreline cleanup to help protect and beautify Sloan’s Lake, one of our local aquatic resources and follow with a series of quick, engaging “Splash Talks” which will be lake and reservoir snapshot sessions (TED talk style/ ~10 minutes each) where members share highlights from their recent monitoring projects, management challenges, success stories, etc. and happy hour. DISCLAIMER: This workshop is designed as a technical, education-focused event. CLRMA is committed to maintaining a no marketing, no sales pitch policy for all presenters. The sessions will emphasize science-based practices, real-world applications, and regulatory insights. Discussions will include a CLRMA-led benchtop jar test comparing alum and unbranded lanthanum-modified bentonite products, with input from experienced professionals and permitting agency staff. The goal is to foster open dialogue and learning in a collaborative, non-commercial setting.
